LiveShow Sound is owned and operated by Mr. Tom Levenhagen in the Santa Cruz Mountains just above Los Gatos, CA.

          Tom began his career in the sound business in 1966 working for the south San Francisco bay area's first sound reinforcement company D-Hi sound buliding amplifiers and speaker cabinets.  D-Hi later expanded to provide sound reinforcement services for many of the top name acts of the day in classic South bay venues like the San Jose Civic Auditorium, the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, the Continental, and the Coconut Grove ballroom in Santa Cruz.  Acts included: Buffalo Springfield, The Who, The Chambers Brothers, Janis Joplin, Paul Revere, Iron Butterfly, The Doors, Country Joe McDonald, and many more.  Tom considers himself fortunate to have been associated with D-Hi owner and live sound pioneer Don Hartwig who is credited with being one the first in the industry to use practices that are now commonplace such as flying speaker array's, front of house mixing, and powered speaker cabinets.  Tom later co-founded Levi Sound in Sunnyvale, CA where he designed and built speaker cabinets, electronics, and complete sound systems for use by touring bands and permanently installed venues.

          Tom gets many positive comments about his solid live mixes and he attributes it to the fact that he is also a musician and knows what it's like to be on the other side of the mixing console.

Tom studied electronics at Foothill Jr. college and is a member of the Audio Engineering Society

Who We Are

          Many sound companies these days seem to be bringing out lightweight inexpensive  mismatched gear.  When I asked some of them why?  More than a few have said the job pays the same no matter what we bring.

          At LiveShow we still believe the audence can tell the difference between good sound and bad sound.  We believe It's not worth the risk to provide equipment that is unreliable or has a reputation for failing.  Our equipment may not be brand new but it is the best in its class, properly maintained, and electronically matched for the best sound possible.  We're not in hurry to get to the next job.  We want to get yours right.
